Roots, Blooms and Leaves
A victory garden? A covid inspired garden? Whatever you want to call it in 2020 I decided to change my attitude of "I can't grow anything" into "I can figure out HOW to grow it."
With a new sense of determination I entered the world of vegetable gardening. The first thing I learned was that my backyard was north facing, which meant that the desirable south facing exposure I would want to grow a bounty of tomatoes and bell peppers was, you guessed it, in my front yard.
At first I was discouraged but after a quick google search I realized that front yard vegetable gardens were becoming more and more popular. I formulated a plan to create a front yard that would be a blend of the long time perennials I already had, new annuals and edible flowers I would grow from seed, and, of course, vegetables. Lots of vegetables.
If I can turn my subdivision sized lot into a wild and thriving gardening experiment you can too. In this blog I will share with you my successes and failures, so you can figure out how to grow it too.
